INSTRUCTIONS FOR
THE PREPARATION OF
ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Important for authors of oral presentations:
The EuroPrevent 2007 slideshow template is now available to download

Please use the EUROPREVENT 2007 Powerpoint presentation template (downloadable from here) to facilitate the online publication of slides following the Congress in the EACPR Slide Resource. This is an online bank of presentations from EACPR Congresses and meetings that can be viewed and downloaded in PDF format. After the Congress a selection of slide presentations will be made by the Congress Programme Committee and with the authors permission published online. If you do not wish your slides to be published online please contact the Congress Secretariat.

As a selection of presentations will be made available online after the congress, we kindly ask you to reduce your file size to 5MB maximum. (you can use the WinZip option to zip your files in order to reduce the size of your presentations)

Please find below some simple tips and instructions should you wish to reduce the size of your pictures

  • Avoid high resolution images (maximum resolution should be set at 96 DPI)
  • Keep images for scientific illustration only
  • Compress your images sizes:

Data Presentation
Disk on Key
If using a PowerPoint (or any other computer) presentation, please note you need to bring it on a CD or on a "disk on key" (using the USB port in the computer) and load it on one of the congress' computers in the Speakers' Ready Room, at least 1 hour before the start of the session. You may supply your own laptop computer as a back-up.
If combining video films with PowerPoint, please make sure to check it in the session hall where your lecture is taking place during a coffee or lunch break prior to your session, or at least 30 minutes before the start of the session - even after checking it in the Speakers’ Ready Room.

Please note that the congress’ computers in the session halls are being supplied with Windows XP and Office XP (at least).

Important note for Macintosh users

Important note for Macintosh usersIf using a Macintosh laptop computer, please note that you need to supply your own, confirm that it has a VGA socket for external signal and come to check it first in the Speakers’ Ready Room as soon as you arrive and later on in the session hall where your lecture is taking place during the coffee or lunch break prior to your session, at least 30 minutes before the start of the session.

Data projection is standard equipment which is available in all session halls. Presenters who require other AV equipment are requested to inform one of the on-site technicians immediately.

We will do our utmost to provide these services but cannot guarantee that they will be available upon request. Please note that slide projection and overhead projection will not be available.
